Paperbacks and Hardcovers

You know, physical books.  The “original” way to read.  This is by far my favorite.  I love collecting books and holding them.  I love photographing the books I’m reading.  This has always been my preferred method of reading.  It may not always be as convenient as other venues, but I wouldn’t trade my bookshelves for anything!

Paperback & Hardcover Books

E-books

I have been toying with the idea of getting a Kindle.  I have the app on my phone, but it’s small and hard to read for extended periods of time.  I love the idea of the convenience of a Kindle & being able to always have a huge library at my fingertips.  You know when you’re waiting at the hair salon, doctor’s office, etc. and wish you had something to read?  Yeah, an e-reader would be GREAT for those moments!  They make so many different kinds these days so I feel like there’s something out there for everyone.  Not to mention, the adorable accessories you can buy for them!  Have you seen the e-reader cases in the Creating & Co shop?  Swoon!

Audiobooks

I love listening to books.  I use Audible, but back in the day, I used to check out books-on-tape (or CD) from the library.  I find that when I’m driving I love listening to audiobooks.  Also when I’m doing chores around the house, out for a walk or even sometimes when I have downtime at work!  I also sometimes listen to Audible when I’m having trouble sleeping.  It either helps me fall asleep or I get so into the book I finish it!  I feel this is the most convenient way to read because it allows you to multitask.  My favorite books to listen to are light, chick lit or YA books or something I’m re-reading.  That way I don’t have to 100% totally focus on the little details.  Lately I’ve been listening to the Harry Potter books as a re-read and it is truly an amazing experience!  I highly recommend it!

Also, check out Kylie's last blog about How to Beat a Reading Slump!  Her photo shows ALL of the types of books I talked about today.  She has some amazing ideas in that blog!

What is your favorite way to read?  If you prefer an e-reader, let me know which kind you use and why you love it!  I’m seriously thinking of purchasing one very soon!

I LOVE my Kindle! It’s so worth it- I always have a book to read on lunch, or during random wait periods and its so different from reading Kindle books on your phone. I also still read physical books at home and usually listen to an audiobook during long drives.

Oh my gosh, I have a Paperwhite and I can’t find it right now between home and all my stuff in storage at school! I love it, but honestly I LOVE shelves full of books even more. For my Relaxathon books I had all Kindle format, but my stress was insane and I didn’t get done. There’s always this week though! :D

I love both my Kindle (just got a new paperwhite!) and physical books. I’m slowly building up a new collection, thanks to wanting to read again and book boxes. :) I still can’t get into audiobooks but that’s just me.
