It always surprises me when I struggle brainstorming for a kit and then it turns out to be one of my favorites but this is definitely one of the ones that is like that. I feel like the theme "stars" is always a little hard b/c with darker colors, they can look amazing on screen and then end up kind of blended together once they're printed.
Plus, other than "big smattering of stars" what else was needed, right?
I decided to make it kind of an observatory/astronomy theme and I think it turned so pretty and kind of vintage/steampunk looking!
This theme is for our Winter 2025 reading challenges and officially, the dates for it are January-March 2025 (aka quarter 1). Each of our seasonal challenges will have a bunch of different sticker sheets you can pick up and I'll go over all of them in this blog post.
You can pick them up starting this Friday, 12/20 at 12pmCST!
First up, we have the weekly kit. You can see the full sheet of full boxes at the top of this blog post.
For the weekly kit, there are 4 pages like always and you can pick up each sheet on its own or as a 4 sheet bundle (with a slight discount built in).
We will also have the 1.3" Skinny or Hobonichi Cousin format that is perfect for smaller planners.
We will also have a few add on sheets for adding more deco to your pages and we're trying out this new functional mini kit that comes with 4 full boxes, a set of date covers and some other extra stickers.
As for the challenge itself, we will have a group read for it, though if you choose not to read the group read you can count it as a free space. We will start voting on the group read in the Creating & Co Book Club after the theme goes live.
There will be 8 other prompts for a total of 9 and as you read, you'll fill up the bookshelf!
In case this is your first challenge with us, here's how it works:
- Take one of the prompts and find a book that applies.
- Read the book and write the title and rating into the table
- Cover one of the books with the full color version from the sheet
- Repeat until you finish all the prompts!
Our most common size is 4.75" x 6.75", which is shown above. It fits perfectly in our build your own book journal too! I also use it in my a5 bullet journal.
We will also have a 7" x 9" version that you can use in most common planners--Erin Condren, Happy Planner, Yellow Paper House, Paper House Productions, etc.
Here are the prompts and what each one means:
- Forging New Path - character who doesn’t go along with what they always thought they would do with their lives but makes a new decision that is against the grain or what people expected of them
- Celestial or Starry Word in Title - any word that's related to the night sky or planetary bodies appears in the title
- Midnight Manuscript - a book you read only after the sun goes down - you don't have to read it all in one night, but just one that you haven't read during the daylight hours
- Cosmic Caress - a book that has an epic romance or features your favorite romance trope
- Jewel Toned Cover - a book cover that has a jewel color cover
- Published in January/February or March - published in these three months of any year
- New Dawn - a character emerges from training or isolation to tackle a challenge or achieve something
- Lunar Library - something about the book is related to the moon, like the plot or a portion of the story
- Group Read/Free Space - This will be voted on in the Creating & Co Book club group on Facebook and we'll chat about it in March
As always, you can interpret the prompts however you want, if you have another idea! You can also read one book per challenge or have one book fit more than one prompt.
The second sheet of the challenge has a few other stickers you may want to use in your planner.
The badge sticker is meant to be used for keeping track of the challenges that you complete. We have a badge tracking sheet that you can use or you could just add them to a blanket page in your planner.
If you don't want to keep track, sometimes I think about adding it to the sidebar of the week I start or finish the challenge but it's up to you.
Other than that, we have the book labels that are perfect for adding to the day you finish one of the books for the challenge. These are great because they look different from our other finished labels so they're a bit more special.
We also have the new reading achievements that you could add to the day you achieve the thing. Usually, these are just silly little bookish things that are just fun to collect.
We also created a dashboard set this year that you can add these to so you can kind of create a single "bank" of achievements that are just fun to look at!
I also made some more dashboards that you can use to track your reading for the season because I love when you can have a whole little section in your planner that all matches.
If you're a big reader, we also have a seasonal book bingo! This way, if you want to really challenge yourself, you can do two challenges for the season (the main one and this one) and if you want even more of a challenge, you can try to get a black out bingo!
I also made a "Currently" dashboard that matches but it's really more for keeping track of other areas of you life. I love seeing my habits and interests throughout the year so this will be a fun way to see it all visually in my planner!
